About Jayne. A predominantly self taught artist based in Carmarthen, West Wales. Born in Birmingham in 1966, she narrowly missed being named after the entire World Cup winning team of that year by her father! Luckily being born a girl, her mother happily settled on Jayne! She moved to Wales after taking her Art A Level, and has never looked back, and now considers herself more Welsh than English based on residency rules! The old welsh cottage she shares with her husband, dogs, cat and hens is also where she has her small art studio. Working there most days amongst the happy chaos! Her studio is not open to the public, but her work can be viewed and purchased on this site, and at the galleries mentioned. Her beautiful surroundings are a constant source of inspiration to her work, the Pembrokeshire coastline, welsh mountains and wonderful old towns alike. Being fascinated by old buildings and streets, most of the art requested of her is for street scenes and townscapes, including her bustling people and animals – but without a car or white van in sight! As she always likes to say: "I want to produce paintings that make people smile"!
